About me
Seeking therapeutic support is a deeply personal journey, and there are many reasons you may be considering it. Whether you’re experiencing emotional distress, facing life’s complexities, navigating relationship challenges, processing grief, addressing addiction, or striving for personal growth, your journey is unique to you. My approach respects this individuality, shaping therapy around your specific needs. In a safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate space, you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Whether you prefer a structured, solution-focused approach or a more open-ended exploration, my commitment is to help you gain deeper insight into your challenges and empower you to harness your strengths, moving towards the life you aspire to lead.
I offer Counselling and Psychotherapy services in London and online, drawing from psychodynamic, existential, cognitive, person-centred, and relational theories. While these therapeutic foundations guide my work, I tailor each session to suit your unique circumstances. My focus is to help you recognise and understand patterns contributing to distress, whether related to depression, anxiety, personal transitions, or trauma, including Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). My work often involves supporting individuals who have experienced developmental, childhood, and intergenerational trauma, as well as those affected by sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. I understand the courage it takes to embark on this journey, and I am dedicated to providing empathetic, specialised support as you navigate these deeply personal experiences.
I received my professional qualifications from the Inter-Psyche Training Centre in Kent and Medway NHS. As the founder of Your Path Matters Organisation, my mission is to support individuals facing psychological and mental health challenges. My previous experience includes working as a psychotherapist in a London NHS GP practice and as a project lead and bereavement therapist at Each Counselling and Psychotherapy Charity, where I supported the BAME community during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, I practise within private settings and serve as a lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Kent and Medway NHS.
Before becoming an integrative therapist, I worked as a Senior Pastoral Director in Sixth Form colleges and boarding schools, providing crucial support to students and families dealing with emotional difficulties, as well as training staff in mental health awareness. Additionally, I served as a trustee for The Breck Foundation, helping to raise awareness of online grooming and abuse within families and educational institutions.
I hold an enhanced DBS check and am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), committed to upholding its ethical standards. If you are considering embarking on your own path of growth and healing, I am here to provide support, understanding, and guidance as you take this important step forward.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your initial session is all about ensuring that we can build a comfortable, trusting working relationship. It’s important to find someone who genuinely feels right for you and aligns with your needs. This first meeting gives us both a chance to see if we’re a good fit—there’s absolutely no obligation to continue beyond this session if it doesn’t feel right for you.
In this first session, we’ll focus on an initial assessment. I’ll ask some general questions to get a sense of your concerns and to understand you as an individual. It’s also a time for you to get a feel for my approach and to ask any questions you might have. If we both agree to move forward, we’ll then discuss a therapeutic plan that works for you.
Not Sure About Booking Your First Session?
If you’re exploring options and unsure about your first step, I offer a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation. This gives you a chance to decide if you’d like to book a full session with me, without any commitment. And if you feel ready to schedule a face-to-face session instead, you’re welcome to do so at any time.
